About Bible Block Diagram
An independent, nonprofit Scripture-study project.
Bible Block Diagram develops visual block diagrams that help readers follow the flow of thought, structure, and meaning of each Scripture passage.
Our mission is to democratize access to the original meaning of Bible passages and God’s Word by making their language, structure, and flow easier for everyone to understand. This work is developed for educational and ministry use, not for commercial profit.
How the diagrams are generated
Each completed chapter follows the same full-chapter review workflow:
The exact BSB and Traditional Chinese CUV text is imported first. For New Testament chapters, the complete SBLGNT Greek clause sequence is reviewed with MorphGNT morphological data. Main clauses, coordinated ideas, modifiers, quotations, and subordinate relationships are then arranged as a depth-first tree without changing the displayed translation’s wording or order. English and Chinese diagrams are built from the same argument outline and checked independently against their translations. Automated checks verify Scripture text, verse references, bilingual coverage, JavaScript syntax, and reviewed structural dependencies.
What comes from where
- Displayed Scripture

English wording and punctuation come from the public-domain Berean Standard Bible (BSB). Traditional Chinese wording and punctuation come from the public-domain Chinese Union Version (CUV) stored in the project’s source files.
- Greek text and morphology

Quoted Greek forms come from the SBL Greek New Testament (SBLGNT). Part-of-speech, lemma, tense, voice, mood, case, number, and gender data are supported by MorphGNT’s tagging of SBLGNT.
- Diagrams, summaries, and annotations

Chapter summaries, verse-range summaries, block hierarchy, textual-basis explanations, selection of Greek highlights, grammatical explanations, and theological synthesis are editorial analysis written and reviewed for this project with Codex. They are not supplied by SBLGNT or MorphGNT and are not copied from a commentary.

Unless a note explicitly names and cites another publication, the project does not claim that its analysis comes from or agrees with Rienecker’s Linguistic Key to the Greek New Testament, a lexicon, a commentary, or another study Bible.
Important limits
SBLGNT is a modern critical edition, not an original manuscript. Morphological tagging identifies forms but does not by itself settle syntax, theology, punctuation, textual variants, or disputed interpretation. The diagrams preserve genuine ambiguity where it matters and should be used as study aids, not as a substitute for the biblical text or a critical apparatus.
